Day 1: Arrival in La Paz ( Bolivia)

 

Welcome to Bolivia, a country of extraordinary landscapes and ancient cultures. Upon arrival at La Paz International Airport, located more than 4,000 meters above sea level, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel.

 

La Paz, considered the highest administrative capital in the world, is striking for its spectacular location in a deep valley surrounded by the imposing peaks of the Cordillera Real. Its streets blend indigenous heritage, colonial architecture, and modern life in a unique and contrasting atmosphere.

 

The rest of the day is free to relax, acclimatize to the altitude, and begin discovering the authentic atmosphere of this fascinating Andean city.

Day 2: La Paz - between Andean traditions and breathtaking views

 

After breakfast, we will take a comprehensive tour of La Paz, one of the most surprising and unique cities in South America. During the tour, we will discover its main attractions, combining history, culture, and spectacular panoramic views of the Andes Mountains.

 

We will visit the historic center, including Plaza Murillo, the Metropolitan Cathedral, and government buildings that reflect the country's political importance. We will then continue to the famous Witches' Market, where ancient Andean traditions are preserved and products related to the indigenous worldview are sold.

 

The tour will also take us to the spectacular southern part of the city and the breathtaking Valley of the Moon, an eroded landscape of rock formations that seems otherworldly. Finally, we'll enjoy a ride on La Paz's modern cable car system, considered one of the highest and most extensive in the world, offering unforgettable views of the city and the majestic snow-capped Illimani mountain.

Day 3: Tiwanaku and Puma Punku, the mysteries of an ancient civilization

After breakfast, we will depart from La Paz for the archaeological complex of Tiwanaku, located on the edge of the Bolivian highlands and considered one of the most important ceremonial centers of pre-Columbian America. Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, this fascinating site was the heart of a powerful civilization that flourished centuries before the Inca Empire.

During the visit we will explore its main monuments, including the famous Gate of the Sun, the Semi-subterranean Temple and the Pyramid of Akapana, while discovering the secrets and astronomical knowledge of this ancient Andean culture.

The excursion continues to Puma Punku, one of the most enigmatic archaeological sites in South America. Its enormous, perfectly carved and fitted stone blocks have sparked the interest of archaeologists and researchers from around the world. Even today, the origin and construction techniques of this complex remain a subject of debate and admiration.

After the visit, we will enjoy time for lunch in the area and contemplate the landscapes of the Bolivian highlands before beginning our return to La Paz.

Day 4: Heading to Lake Titicaca, between the high plateau and the sacred waters - Copacabana

 

After breakfast, we'll begin our journey from La Paz to Copacabana, a charming town on the shores of the legendary Lake Titicaca. The route takes us through the breathtaking landscapes of the Bolivian Altiplano, where vast plains, small indigenous communities, and herds of llamas accompany us along the way.

 

During the route, we will cross the Strait of Tiquina, a natural passage that divides Lake Titicaca into two large sections. Here, we will take a short boat trip, enjoying magnificent views of the lake's blue waters and the mountains rising on the horizon.

 

Upon arriving in Copacabana, considered one of the main pilgrimage centers of Bolivia, we will have time to discover its peaceful atmosphere, its picturesque streets and the famous Basilica of the Virgin of Copacabana, patron saint of the country.

 

In the afternoon, we can enjoy spectacular views of the world's highest navigable lake, whose waters have been considered sacred since ancient times. A place steeped in history, legends, and spirituality, it marks the gateway to the heart of the Andean world.

Day 5: Island of the Sun - cradle of Inca legends

 

After breakfast, we will embark on an unforgettable journey across Lake Titicaca to the mythical Island of the Sun, considered one of the most sacred places in the Andean worldview. According to legend, it was here that Manco Cápac and Mama Ocllo, the founders of the Inca Empire, were born, sent by the Sun God to civilize the Andean peoples.

 

During the boat trip, we'll enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the lake, surrounded by the mountains of the Cordillera Real and the vast landscapes of the Bolivian highlands. Once on the island, we'll explore ancient trails used since pre-Hispanic times, passing through agricultural terraces, small indigenous communities, and hidden corners that have preserved their ancestral traditions.

 

We will visit important Inca archaeological sites, including the famous Yumani Steps and the Fountain of Youth, a natural spring associated with ancient beliefs of prosperity and longevity. Throughout the tour, the tranquility of the surroundings and the breathtaking views of the lake create a unique atmosphere, ideal for connecting with the history and spirituality of the Andes.

 

In the afternoon we will return by boat to Copacabana, enjoying once again the landscapes that have made Lake Titicaca one of the most emblematic places in South America.

Day 6: From Copacabana to Puno - overnight bus to Cusco

 

After breakfast, we'll continue our journey along the shores of Lake Titicaca until we cross the border between Bolivia and Peru. As we travel across the Andean highlands, we'll enjoy spectacular landscapes, traditional villages, and vast plains where life unfolds according to ancient customs.

 

Arrival in Puno, the folkloric capital of Peru and one of the most important cities on the shores of Lake Titicaca. During the visit, we will explore its main attractions, including the Plaza de Armas, the Puno Cathedral, and some of the most representative corners of this Andean city, famous for its traditions, festivals, and its close relationship with the highest navigable lake in the world.

 

We will have free time to stroll through its lively streets, discover the local markets or enjoy the views of the lake before continuing our journey.

 

In the evening, we'll board a comfortable overnight bus to Cusco, the former capital of the Inca Empire. As we travel through the breathtaking landscapes of the Peruvian Andes, we'll journey to the heart of one of the most fascinating civilizations in the Americas.

Day 7: Rest and first contact with the capital of the Inca empire - Cusco

 

Arrival in Cusco in the early morning hours after the overnight journey from Puno. After transferring to the hotel, you will have time to rest, recover from the journey, and acclimatize to the altitude of the former capital of the Inca Empire.

 

The rest of the day is free to enjoy the unique atmosphere of this UNESCO World Heritage city. You can stroll along its charming cobblestone streets, discover its colonial plazas built upon ancient Inca foundations, relax in one of its cozy cafes, or simply observe the daily life of one of South America's most fascinating cities.

 

Cusco uniquely blends the legacy of the Inca civilization with Spanish colonial architecture, creating a magical atmosphere that invites leisurely exploration. A perfect day to relax and begin to feel the energy of the Andes before continuing on to your next adventures.

Day 8: Archaeological treasures: Sacsayhuaman, Quenqo, Tambomachay, Puka Pukara

 

After breakfast, we will take a fascinating tour of the main archaeological complexes surrounding the city of Cusco, discovering some of the most important and enigmatic places of the ancient Inca Empire.

 

Our first stop will be Sacsayhuamán, an impressive ceremonial fortress built with gigantic, perfectly fitted stone blocks. From here, we'll also enjoy magnificent panoramic views of the city of Cusco.

 

We will continue to Qenqo, an ancient ceremonial center dedicated to religious rituals and astronomical observations. Its passageways carved into the rock and its mysterious structures reflect the profound spirituality of the Inca culture.

 

The route continues towards Puka Pukara, known as the "Red Fortress", a strategic construction that served as a checkpoint and rest stop for travelers heading towards Cusco.

 

Finally, we will visit Tambomachay, considered one of the ceremonial centers dedicated to the worship of water. Its fountains, canals, and aqueducts continue to function to this day, demonstrating the extraordinary hydraulic engineering knowledge achieved by the Incas.

 

Throughout the day we will learn about the history, engineering and beliefs of one of the most advanced civilizations in America, while enjoying the spectacular Andean landscapes that surround the ancient imperial capital.

Day 9: Sacred Valley of the Incas and trip to Aguas Calientes

 

After breakfast, we will begin one of the most fascinating days of the trip, exploring the legendary Sacred Valley of the Incas, a region privileged by its extraordinary natural beauty, its fertile agricultural terraces, and its enormous historical importance within the Inca Empire.

 

Our first stop will be Pisac, famous for its impressive archaeological complex perched atop a mountain. From here, we'll enjoy spectacular views of the valley and explore the ancient agricultural terraces, a masterpiece of Inca engineering. We'll also have the opportunity to experience the traditional atmosphere of this picturesque Andean village.

 

We will continue to Ollantaytambo, considered one of the best-preserved Inca towns in Peru. Its narrow cobblestone streets, still inhabited according to the original Inca layout, and its imposing fortress make this place one of the most important archaeological treasures in the country.

 

After the visit, we'll head to the train station to board the train that will take us through spectacular Andean landscapes, following the course of the Urubamba River. During the journey, snow-capped peaks, verdant mountains, and deep canyons herald our arrival at one of South America's most iconic destinations.

 

In the late afternoon, we'll arrive in Aguas Calientes, the gateway to Machu Picchu. This small town, surrounded by lush mountains and cloud forests, will be our resting point before visiting the Inca citadel the following day.

Day 10: Machu Picchu, the lost city of the Incas

 

Very early in the morning, we will ascend from Aguas Calientes along a scenic road that winds through lush mountains covered in vegetation until we reach one of the most emblematic places on the planet: Machu Picchu, the jewel of the Inca Empire and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

 

Upon arrival, we will discover the majesty of this extraordinary citadel, built in the 15th century and hidden in the Andes for centuries. During the guided tour, we will explore its main areas, including ceremonial temples, plazas, agricultural terraces, astronomical observatories, and ancient enclosures that reveal the advanced architectural and engineering knowledge of the Incas.

 

As we explore this stunning historical sanctuary, we will enjoy spectacular views of the mountains surrounding the complex and learn about the stories, legends, and mysteries that have made Machu Picchu one of the most admired destinations in the world.

 

After the visit, we will descend again to Aguas Calientes, where we will have free time for lunch and to stroll through this charming Andean town before heading to the train station.

 

In the afternoon, we'll begin our return journey through the Sacred Valley, enjoying once again the breathtaking landscapes of the Peruvian Andes. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel in Cusco.

Day 11: Vinikunka, the spectacular seven-colored mountain

We depart very early from Cusco to delve into the breathtaking landscapes of the Andes Mountains. During the journey, we will pass through small traditional villages, expansive valleys, and snow-capped peaks, forming part of some of Peru's most spectacular scenery.

Upon reaching the starting point of the hike, we will begin the ascent to Vinicunca, known worldwide as the Rainbow Mountain. As we hike along trails surrounded by mountains and herds of llamas and alpacas, we will admire the vastness of the Andean highlands and the daily life of the communities that inhabit this region.

After reaching an altitude of over 5,000 meters, we will be rewarded with one of the most breathtaking views in South America. The striking bands of natural colors, formed by minerals accumulated over millions of years, create a unique landscape that seems otherworldly. From this vantage point, we will also enjoy magnificent panoramic views of the snow-capped peaks that dominate the Andean horizon.

After free time to admire the scenery and take photographs, we will begin the descent and return to Cusco, crossing once again the spectacular landscapes of the mountain range.

Day 12: Maras & Moray - the agricultural secrets of the Incas

After breakfast, we will depart from Cusco towards the Sacred Valley to discover two of the most amazing and unique places in the Andean region: Moray and the famous Maras Salt Mines.

Our first visit will be to Moray, an extraordinary archaeological complex made up of concentric circular terraces that descend in the shape of a natural amphitheater. It is believed that this site was an important center for Inca agricultural experimentation, where different microclimates were studied to optimize the cultivation of numerous plant species. The perfection of its design and the scientific knowledge it reflects continue to amaze researchers from around the world.

We will continue to the impressive Maras Salt Mines, one of the most photogenic landscapes in Peru. More than three thousand salt ponds cascade down the mountainside, creating a spectacular mosaic of white and gold hues. These salt mines have been exploited since pre-Incan times and are still worked today by local families who keep this ancestral tradition alive.

During the excursion we will enjoy magnificent views of the Andes, learn about ancient salt production techniques, and discover how these communities have preserved their customs throughout the centuries.

Day 13: Humantay Lagoon, a turquoise jewel in the heart of the Andes

Early morning departure from Cusco towards the breathtaking landscapes of the Vilcabamba mountain range. Along the way, we'll pass through picturesque Andean villages, fertile valleys, and scenery dominated by majestic snow-capped peaks that will accompany us throughout the day.

Upon arriving at the starting point of the excursion, we will begin a hike surrounded by the spectacular nature of the Peruvian Andes. Gradually, the landscape becomes more imposing, with snow-capped mountains, high-altitude meadows, and panoramic views that invite you to stop and admire the beauty of the surroundings.

Our effort will be rewarded upon reaching the extraordinary Humantay Lagoon, one of Peru's most breathtaking natural wonders. Its intense turquoise waters, fed by the meltwater of the Humantay mountain, create a spectacular contrast with the snow-capped peaks and the surrounding mountain landscape.

We'll have time to relax, admire this unique setting, and capture unforgettable photographs of one of the most beautiful corners of the Andes. The tranquility of the place and the grandeur of nature make this experience one of the most special moments of the trip.

After the hike, we will begin our return to Cusco, enjoying the magnificent Andean landscapes once again.

Day 14: From the Andes to the Pacific Coast - Lima

After breakfast, transfer to Cusco airport for your flight to Lima, the vibrant capital of Peru. During the flight, you'll enjoy breathtaking views of Peru's stunning landscape, leaving the majestic Andes Mountains behind as you head towards the Pacific coast.

Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel and the rest of the day is free to relax or begin exploring the city. Lima surprises visitors with its blend of history, culture, and modernity, boasting elegant residential neighborhoods, expansive waterfront parks, and a valuable colonial heritage declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This day offers a pleasant transition between the Andean landscapes and the Peruvian coast, preparing us for the upcoming experiences that await us in the Paracas and Nazca region.

Day 15: Lima - history, culture and views of the Pacific

After breakfast, we will take a guided tour of Lima, one of the most fascinating capitals in Latin America, where colonial heritage, Peruvian culture and modernity coexist in perfect harmony.

We will begin our tour in the Historic Center of Lima, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will visit the Plaza Mayor, the heart of the city since its founding in 1535, where the Cathedral of Lima, the Government Palace, and other magnificent colonial buildings that reflect the splendor of the former Viceroyalty of Peru are located.

We will continue discovering some of the most emblematic corners of the capital, admiring its elegant wooden balconies, historic churches and monuments that tell centuries of history.

Afterwards, we'll head to the modern districts of Miraflores and San Isidro, known for their wide avenues, parks, and spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. We'll stroll along the famous Miraflores boardwalk, where we can admire the coastal cliffs and the vast ocean horizon.

During the excursion we will learn about the fascinating mix of cultures that has made Lima one of the most vibrant cities in South America and the gastronomic capital of the continent.

Day 16: Ballestas Islands and the Huacachina oasis - between marine wildlife and desert dunes

 

Very early in the morning we will depart from Lima towards the southern coast of Peru for a day filled with natural contrasts. Our first stop will be in Paracas, from where we will embark on an excursion to the famous Ballestas Islands, considered one of the most important natural sanctuaries in the country.

 

During the voyage, we will observe the enigmatic geoglyph known as El Candelabro, etched into a hill overlooking the ocean. We will continue towards the islands, home to an extraordinary diversity of marine life. Along the way, we will see colonies of sea lions, Humboldt penguins, pelicans, boobies, and numerous other birds that inhabit this protected ecosystem, known as the "Peruvian Galapagos."

 

After the visit, we'll continue our journey to Huacachina, a spectacular oasis surrounded by immense sand dunes in the heart of the Peruvian coastal desert. This unique spot offers a stunning landscape where palm trees and a lagoon contrast with the sand dunes that stretch to the horizon.

 

In the afternoon, you'll have free time to stroll through the oasis, relax by the lagoon, or simply enjoy the tranquil atmosphere of this magical place. Optional activities such as buggy rides through the dunes or sandboarding are available for those who wish.

Day 17: Flight over the Nazca Lines from Huacachina

 

Prepare to experience one of the most fascinating adventures in Peru. Very early in the morning, we will depart from the Huacachina oasis towards the Nazca airfield, traveling through the breathtaking landscapes of the Peruvian coastal desert.

 

After a brief safety briefing, we'll board a small plane for the legendary flight over the mysterious Nazca Lines, one of the world's greatest archaeological enigmas and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From the air, you'll be able to admire the enormous figures etched into the desert over a thousand years ago, including the Hummingbird, the Monkey, the Spider, the Condor, the Whale, and many other geometric shapes whose meaning continues to spark theories and fascination.

 

The panoramic view of the immense desert, the Andes in the distance, and the enigmatic figures engraved on the arid surface make this flight a unique and unforgettable experience.

 

At the end of the flight, we will begin our return to Huacachina, where you will have time to continue enjoying the magical atmosphere of this oasis surrounded by gigantic sand dunes.

Day 18: From Nazca to Lima: return through desert, ocean and history

 

After breakfast, we'll begin our return journey to Lima along the legendary Pan-American Highway South, a route that traverses some of the most breathtaking landscapes on the Peruvian coast. Along the way, we'll admire vast dunes, fertile valleys carved by rivers flowing down from the Andes, and spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean.

 

We will continue towards Lima, passing through small coastal towns, agricultural fields and vast desert plains that show the surprising contrast between the aridity of the Peruvian coast and the cultural richness of its inhabitants.

 

After arriving in Lima and settling into your hotel, you will have free time to stroll through the elegant neighborhoods of Miraflores or Barranco, watch the sunset over the Pacific, or simply enjoy the unique atmosphere of the Peruvian capital.

Day 19: Goodbye Peru - transfer to Lima airport

 

After breakfast, and depending on your flight schedule, you will enjoy free time to do some last-minute shopping, stroll around the hotel, or simply relax before returning home.

 

At the agreed time, transfer to the Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima to complete the boarding procedures.

 

With hearts full of unforgettable memories, the time will come to say goodbye to Peru, a country of extraordinary landscapes, ancestral cultures, and unique experiences that will remain forever in our memories.
