Day 2: Bogotá - flight to Leticia

 

After breakfast, we'll transfer to the airport for our flight to Leticia, the gateway to the Colombian Amazon. During the flight, we'll be able to appreciate the vastness of the rainforest from the air, one of the most biodiverse ecosystems on the planet.

 

Upon arrival in Leticia, we'll settle in and get our first taste of the Amazonian environment. Located at the tri-border area of Colombia, Brazil, and Peru, this city offers a unique blend of cultures, traditions, and nature. Depending on the time of day, we can explore the surrounding area and begin discovering the natural and cultural richness of this fascinating region.

Day 3: Nature reserve in the Peruvian Amazon

 

After breakfast, we'll meet at the local office in Leticia to begin our Amazon adventure. We'll transfer to the river port and board a boat for approximately 45 minutes along the majestic Amazon River, the world's largest river by volume, until we reach a nature reserve located in Peruvian territory.

 

Upon arrival, we will embark on a two-hour hike through the rainforest, accompanied by local guides who will help us discover the extraordinary biodiversity of the Amazon. During the hike, we will observe ancient trees, medicinal plants, and the lush vegetation that characterizes this unique ecosystem.

Day 4: Nature Reserve - Monkey Island - Puerto Nariño

 

After breakfast deep in the Amazon rainforest, we'll begin a hike to the port, where our boat will be waiting to take us on another adventure exploring the natural treasures of the Amazon. We'll navigate the mighty Amazon River until we reach the famous Monkey Island, home to curious monkeys that roam freely in this unique environment.

Day 10: Nuquí - bathing in the hot springs

Day 11: Nuquí - flight to Medellín

 

After breakfast, we will say goodbye to the wild beaches and lush nature of the Colombian Pacific to transfer to Nuquí airport and take the flight back to Medellín.

 

During the flight, we'll be able to admire from above the breathtaking contrast between the rainforest, the rivers that wind through the vegetation, and the vastness of the Pacific Ocean. A final opportunity to marvel at one of Colombia's most biodiverse and least explored regions.

Day 13: Panama Canal, Fort San Lorenzo and Old Town of Panama

 

After breakfast, we'll depart for the historic Fort San Lorenzo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built by the Spanish in the late 16th century to protect the entrance to the Chagres River, this fortress was a key element in the defense of the Spanish Empire's trade routes in the Caribbean. From its walls, we'll enjoy breathtaking views over the river's mouth and learn about the stories of privateers and pirates who shaped the region's history, including the infamous Henry Morgan.

 

Next, we'll head to the Miraflores Visitor Center, where we can observe the operation of the legendary Panama Canal, one of the world's most important engineering feats. From the observation decks, we'll have the opportunity to watch enormous ships pass through the locks and understand the strategic importance of this interoceanic waterway connecting the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.

Day 14: Panama City - San Blas: the most authentic Caribbean

 

Very early in the morning, we'll begin our adventure to the autonomous territory of Guna Yala, home to the Guna indigenous people and one of the most authentic paradises in the Caribbean. We'll travel in 4x4 vehicles, crossing the rainforest-covered mountains that separate Panama City from the Caribbean coast. Along the way, we'll witness a fascinating contrast between the modern skyscrapers of the capital and the natural landscapes that will accompany us until we reach the small port of Cartí.

 

Upon arrival, we will board a speedboat to sail through the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea towards Isla Aguja, one of the jewels of the San Blas archipelago, made up of more than 360 islands and islets of white sand, palm trees and crystal clear waters.

 

After a freshly prepared lunch featuring local products, we'll have the afternoon free to enjoy this authentic tropical paradise. We can relax under the palm trees, swim in the warm Caribbean waters, stroll around the island, or simply unwind in an environment of extraordinary natural beauty.

Day 15: Paradise islands of San Blas

 

After breakfast, we'll explore the wonders of the San Blas archipelago, a paradise comprised of over 365 islands and islets with white sand beaches and crystal-clear waters, only a small portion of which are inhabited by the indigenous Guna people. During our visit, we'll also learn about some of their most representative traditions, such as the famous molas, authentic works of art handcrafted with colorful textiles that reflect nature, animals, and the worldview of this ancestral culture.

 

Our first stop will be Isla Perro, one of the archipelago's most famous islands. Here, we'll have the opportunity to snorkel alongside a sunken shipwreck, now a haven for tropical fish and marine life. Beneath the crystal-clear waters, we'll discover a fascinating world of coral, multicolored fish, and stunning underwater landscapes.

 

We will continue the excursion with a stop at the spectacular Sunken Island, a small sandbar surrounded by turquoise waters where we can swim, relax and enjoy one of the most photogenic scenery in the Caribbean.

 

Return to Isla Aguja for lunch and a relaxing afternoon in this authentic tropical paradise. Free time to enjoy the beach, stroll among the palm trees, or simply unwind while gazing at the intense blue of the Caribbean Sea.

Day 16: Paradise islands of San Blas

 

After breakfast, we'll enjoy another day in the paradise of San Blas, a place where time seems to stand still and nature retains all its pristine beauty. The day will be dedicated to exploring the daily life of the Guna people, one of the best-preserved indigenous communities in Latin America.

 

We will have the opportunity to visit a local community to learn about its traditions, way of life, and the artisanal production of the famous molas, colorful textiles that are one of Panama's most representative artistic expressions. This encounter will allow us to connect with a culture that has preserved its identity and customs for generations.

 

The rest of the day will be free to enjoy the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean, swim, snorkel, stroll along the beach or simply relax under the shade of the palm trees while contemplating one of the most spectacular landscapes in Central America.

Day 17: Return to Panama City

 

After breakfast, we will say goodbye to the paradisiacal islands of San Blas and board a speedboat that will take us back to the port of Cartí, enjoying for the last time the crystal clear waters and spectacular landscapes of the Panamanian Caribbean.

 

Upon arrival, we will continue our journey in 4x4 vehicles, traversing the mountains and lush rainforest of the Guna Yala indigenous territory. During the trip, we will admire the breathtaking natural landscapes that contrast with the modern silhouette of Panama City, which will gradually appear on the horizon.

 

Arrival in Panama City and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the afternoon is free to relax, do some last-minute shopping, enjoy the local cuisine, or stroll around the city. An excellent opportunity to make the most of your last few hours in Panama before continuing your journey.

Day 18: Panama City - Tocumen Airport

 

After breakfast, we'll enjoy our last few hours in Panama. The morning will be perfect for strolling through the city, discovering some of its favorite spots, doing some last-minute shopping, or simply relaxing and reminiscing about the experiences we've had during this extraordinary journey that has taken us from the Colombian Amazon to the paradisiacal islands of San Blas.

 

It will be a time to relive encounters with indigenous communities, the landscapes of the rainforest, the pristine beaches of the Pacific, the magic of the Amazon, the impressive Panama Canal, and the crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean.
