Day 1: Arrival in Mexico City

 

Welcome to Mexico, a country where ancient history, living traditions, and modernity coexist in a fascinating way. Upon your arrival at Mexico City Airport, we will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you will have free time to begin exploring the Mexican capital, considered one of the largest and most interesting cities in the world. Its plazas, markets, cafes, and historic buildings offer a first glimpse into the rich culture that will accompany us throughout our trip.

 

Day 2: The Historic Heart of Mexico City

 

Discover fascinating Mexico City, one of the largest and most vibrant metropolises in the world, built upon the ruins of ancient Tenochtitlán, the legendary capital of the Aztec Empire. During today’s tour, we will explore the historic Zócalo, the political and cultural heart of the country, surrounded by the impressive Metropolitan Cathedral, the National Palace, and the remains of the ancient Templo Mayor, which bear witness to the splendor of Aztec civilization.

 

We will also visit the renowned Frida Kahlo Museum, known as Casa Azul, where we will learn about the life and work of one of Latin America’s most influential artists. We will stroll along elegant avenues, historic squares, and charming neighborhoods that perfectly reflect the unique blend of tradition and modern life.

 

The program also includes a visit to the iconic Torre Latinoamericana, offering breathtaking panoramic views over the city and the vast valley where Tenochtitlán once stood. Day 3: Following the Footsteps of Ancient Civilizations: Teotihuacán and Puebla

 

After breakfast we will leave Mexico City for Teotihuacán, one of the most impressive archaeological sites in the Americas and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Known as the “City of the Gods,” it was one of the most important urban centers of ancient Mesoamerica. During our visit we will explore the majestic Pyramid of the Sun, the Pyramid of the Moon and the famous Avenue of the Dead, discovering the mysteries and grandeur of this remarkable civilization.

 

After the visit we will continue to the charming colonial city of Puebla, considered one of Mexico’s architectural gems. Its historic center, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is renowned for elegant churches, colorful tiled façades, lively squares and a rich culinary tradition. We will stroll through its historic streets and admire the magnificent Puebla Cathedral, one of the city’s most iconic landmarks.

 

A day that beautifully combines the legacy of pre-Hispanic cultures with the splendor and elegance of colonial Mexico.

Day 4: From Colonial Puebla to the Cultural Heart of Oaxaca

 

After breakfast we will continue our journey to the beautiful city of Oaxaca de Juárez, one of the most authentic and fascinating destinations in Mexico. Along the way we will travel through spectacular mountain landscapes and fertile valleys that perfectly reflect the country’s extraordinary natural diversity.

 

Upon arrival we will begin discovering the charm of Oaxaca, a UNESCO World Heritage city. Its cobblestone streets, colorful colonial façades, lively squares and traditional markets create a unique atmosphere where centuries of history, art and indigenous traditions come together. We will stroll through the historic center, admire the magnificent Church of Santo Domingo de Guzmán, considered one of the finest examples of Mexican Baroque architecture, and enjoy the bohemian ambiance that makes this city so distinctive.

 

Oaxaca is also regarded as the gastronomic capital of Mexico, famous for its mole sauces, mezcal, chocolate and remarkable cultural heritage inherited from the Zapotec and Mixtec peoples. A day dedicated to discovering the true soul of authentic Mexico.

Day 5: Hierve el Agua, Teotitlán del Valle and the Mezcal Route

 

After breakfast we will set out to discover some of the most remarkable natural and cultural treasures of Oaxaca. Our first stop will be Hierve el Agua, one of Mexico’s most extraordinary natural wonders and one of the region’s most iconic attractions.

 

Perched high in the mountains, this unique site is famous for its spectacular petrified waterfalls, created over thousands of years by mineral-rich spring waters. We will walk along natural terraces, enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys and, for those who wish, take a refreshing swim in crystal-clear natural pools.

 

We will then continue through the scenic landscapes of the Oaxaca Valley, where agave fields, mountain vistas and traditional villages create an atmosphere of authenticity. Our next stop will be Teotitlán del Valle, a Zapotec community renowned for its handwoven rugs and textiles. In a family workshop we will learn about traditional weaving techniques and the production of natural dyes derived from plants, minerals and insects.

 

The journey continues along the famous Mezcal Route. We will visit a traditional distillery to discover every stage of mezcal production, from harvesting agave and roasting it in underground ovens to milling and distillation. The visit will conclude with a tasting of different mezcal varieties.

 

In the afternoon we will return to Oaxaca, where free time will allow us to stroll through the historic center, explore traditional markets or simply enjoy the unique atmosphere of one of Mexico’s most fascinating cities.

Day 6: Monte Albán and the Pacific Coast – From the Zapotecs to Mazunte

 

After breakfast we will visit Monte Albán, the ancient capital of the Zapotec civilization and one of Mexico’s most impressive archaeological sites, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Perched atop a mountain overlooking the Oaxaca Valley, this magnificent ceremonial city captivates visitors with its temples, plazas, observatories and monuments that reflect more than a thousand years of pre-Hispanic history.

 

Following the visit, we will continue our journey toward the Pacific coast, crossing the spectacular mountain landscapes of the Sierra Madre del Sur. As we descend toward the ocean, the scenery gradually changes from rugged highlands to lush tropical vegetation and warm coastal climates.

 

By late afternoon we will arrive in Mazunte, one of the most charming seaside villages on Mexico’s Pacific coast. Known for its relaxed atmosphere, golden beaches and strong connection with nature, Mazunte offers a unique bohemian ambiance, perfect for unwinding, enjoying a beautiful sunset and experiencing the authentic spirit of Oaxaca’s coastline.

Day 7: Encounter with the Whales of the Pacific

 

Today we will enjoy one of the most exciting and unforgettable experiences of the entire journey. Early in the morning we will set sail into the waters of the Pacific Ocean in search of the true giants of the sea – the majestic humpback whales.

 

The coast of Oaxaca is considered one of the best whale-watching destinations in the world. Every year, between December and March, hundreds of humpback whales migrate from the cold northern waters to these warm Pacific shores to breed and give birth to their calves. During the excursion we may witness spectacular breaches, enormous tails rising above the water and memorable interactions between mothers and their young.

 

The experience is often enhanced by the presence of wild dolphins, which frequently accompany the boats and play among the waves, creating a fascinating and spontaneous natural spectacle. Every excursion is unique and offers a different perspective on the richness of marine life.

 

After returning to Mazunte, we will have free time to relax on the beach, swim in the Pacific Ocean or continue exploring the laid-back atmosphere of this charming coastal village. Those interested may browse local artisan shops or visit workshops producing natural cosmetics made from regional plants and tropical ingredients.

Day 8: Mazunte and Punta Cometa – The Magic of Mexico’s Pacific Coast

 

Today we will enjoy a relaxing day in Mazunte, one of Mexico’s most picturesque and authentic coastal villages. Surrounded by lush tropical nature and golden sandy beaches, this charming destination has preserved its peaceful bohemian atmosphere, inviting visitors to slow down and experience the laid-back rhythm of the Pacific coast.

 

In the afternoon we will visit Punta Cometa, the southernmost point of Oaxaca State and one of the most spectacular locations along Mexico’s coastline. After a short walk through tropical vegetation, we will reach this stunning natural viewpoint, where dramatic cliffs rise above the Pacific Ocean and offer breathtaking panoramic views.

 

Punta Cometa is widely regarded as one of the best places in Mexico to watch the sunset. As the sun slowly disappears beyond the horizon and paints the sky with shades of gold, orange and violet, we will experience one of the most magical moments of the journey. A memorable experience combining nature, tranquility and the untamed beauty of Mexico’s Pacific coast.

Day 9: The Seven Bays of Huatulco and Transfer to Tuxtla Gutiérrez

 

After breakfast we will board a catamaran to explore one of the most spectacular natural treasures of Mexico’s Pacific coast: the famous Bays of Huatulco. This protected area forms part of Huatulco National Park, renowned for its extraordinary biodiversity, mangrove forests and remarkably preserved marine ecosystems.

 

During the cruise we will visit some of the region’s most beautiful bays, where lush tropical cliffs meet pristine golden beaches and crystal-clear turquoise waters. Along the way we will discover hidden coves accessible only by sea, true natural paradises far from the usual tourist routes.

 

There will be time to swim in the warm Pacific waters, snorkel among colorful tropical fish or simply relax on board while admiring the breathtaking coastal scenery. Each bay has its own unique character and offers unforgettable views of Mexico’s Pacific shoreline.

 

With a bit of luck, we may also spot dolphins and other marine species that inhabit these privileged waters. Light snacks and refreshing drinks will be served on board throughout the excursion.

 

After the tour we will continue our journey to Tuxtla Gutiérrez, the capital of Chiapas and the gateway to some of the most spectacular natural wonders of southern Mexico. Arrival, accommodation and rest before continuing our adventure through the lands of the Maya.

Day 10: Sumidero Canyon and San Cristóbal de las Casas

 

After breakfast we will travel to the impressive Sumidero Canyon, one of Mexico’s most spectacular natural wonders. Aboard a motorboat we will navigate through this majestic canyon, formed millions of years ago by tectonic activity. Its towering cliffs rise up to 1,000 meters above the Grijalva River, creating a breathtaking natural landscape. During the cruise we will admire dramatic rock formations, waterfalls, natural caves and a remarkable variety of wildlife, including crocodiles, monkeys and numerous bird species.

 

Following this unforgettable experience, we will continue to San Cristóbal de las Casas, one of Mexico’s most beautiful and charming colonial cities. Nestled in the mountains of Chiapas at an altitude of more than 2,100 meters, the city enchants visitors with its cobblestone streets, colorful façades, traditional markets and unique cultural atmosphere.

 

Upon arrival, we will have time to stroll through the historic center, admire the colonial architecture and discover the fascinating blend of indigenous traditions and Spanish heritage that makes this city one of the most captivating destinations in Mexico.

Day 11: San Juan Chamula – Ancient Traditions of the Maya Peoples

 

After breakfast we will take an excursion to San Juan Chamula, one of the most fascinating and enigmatic indigenous communities in Chiapas. Located in the mountains near San Cristóbal de las Casas, this Tzotzil village has preserved many of its ancient traditions, customs and social structures inherited from the Maya culture.

 

The main attraction is its unique church dedicated to Saint John the Baptist, where an extraordinary blend of Catholicism and ancestral Maya beliefs can still be experienced. Inside, there are no pews or conventional religious ceremonies. The floor is covered with pine needles, while local residents perform traditional rituals accompanied by candles, flowers and prayers spoken in their native language, creating a truly unique and deeply spiritual atmosphere.

 

During the visit we will also learn about the daily life of the community, explore its colorful markets and discover traditions that have remained virtually unchanged for centuries. An authentic cultural experience that offers a rare insight into one of Mexico’s most remarkable and best-preserved indigenous traditions.

Day 12: From the Waterfalls of Chiapas to the Lost City of the Maya

 

Today we will explore some of the most spectacular natural landscapes in the state of Chiapas. Our first stop will be the famous Agua Azul Waterfalls, a series of stunning turquoise cascades flowing through lush tropical rainforest. This natural paradise offers some of the most breathtaking scenery in Mexico and is considered one of the country’s most photogenic destinations.

 

We will then continue to the beautiful Misol-Ha Waterfall, where a curtain of water more than thirty meters high plunges into a pool surrounded by dense jungle vegetation. Those who wish may follow the trail behind the waterfall and enjoy a unique perspective of this remarkable natural wonder.

 

In the afternoon we will arrive in Palenque, one of the most important and fascinating Maya cities in Mesoamerica. Surrounded by the tropical rainforest of Chiapas, this ancient city was once a major political and ceremonial center of the Maya world. Accommodation and free time to relax before discovering the archaeological treasures of this extraordinary UNESCO World Heritage Site the following day.

Day 13: Palenque – The Lost Jewel of the Maya World

 

After breakfast we will visit the impressive archaeological site of Palenque, considered one of the most beautiful and important Maya cities in all of Mesoamerica. This extraordinary UNESCO World Heritage Site remained hidden within the tropical rainforest of Chiapas for centuries and reached its golden age during the 7th and 8th centuries under the rule of the famous King Pakal.

 

During our visit we will explore some of its most remarkable monuments, including the majestic Temple of the Inscriptions, where Pakal’s tomb was discovered, the elegant Palace, the Temple of the Cross and other magnificent structures decorated with intricate reliefs and sculptures that reveal the greatness of Maya civilization.

 

Surrounded by lush jungle inhabited by howler monkeys and countless bird species, Palenque offers a unique atmosphere where history, archaeology and nature come together. Visiting this extraordinary site is one of the most memorable experiences in Mexico and provides a fascinating insight into one of the greatest civilizations of the Americas.

 

After the visit we will return to our hotel in Palenque, where free time will allow us to relax, enjoy the hotel facilities or unwind amidst the surrounding tropical nature before continuing our journey through southeastern Mexico.

Day 14: From the Maya Jungle to the Walled City of Campeche

 

After breakfast we will leave behind the lush tropical landscapes of Chiapas and continue our journey toward the Gulf of Mexico coast. Along the way we will pass through tropical scenery and charming towns that reflect the rich cultural heritage of southeastern Mexico.

 

In the afternoon we will arrive in San Francisco de Campeche, one of the most beautiful and best-preserved colonial cities in the Americas, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Famous for its walls, bastions and fortresses built to defend the city from pirate attacks, Campeche has retained its unique charm through its cobblestone streets, colorful colonial mansions and lively public squares.

 

During a walk through the historic center we will admire its remarkable colonial architecture, learn about the corsairs and pirates who once sailed these waters and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this remarkable city.

 

Accommodation in Campeche and free time to stroll through its illuminated streets or enjoy a relaxing evening by the sea.

Day 15: Uxmal and Mérida – Treasures of the Maya World and the Colonial Elegance of Yucat

 

After breakfast we will depart for Uxmal, one of the most impressive archaeological cities of the Maya civilization and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Considered the finest example of the Puuc architectural style, Uxmal stands out for the extraordinary beauty and harmony of its buildings. During our visit we will admire the majestic Pyramid of the Magician, the Nunnery Quadrangle, the Governor’s Palace and other magnificent structures decorated with intricate stone mosaics and representations of Chaac, the Maya god of rain.

 

After the visit we will continue to Mérida, the elegant capital of Yucatán State, known as the “White City.” Upon arrival we will explore its charming historic center, discovering broad avenues, beautiful plazas, colonial buildings and grand mansions that recall the golden age of the henequen industry. Mérida perfectly blends Maya heritage with Spanish colonial traditions, creating a unique atmosphere rich in history, culture and local customs.

Day 16: Chichén Itzá, Selva Maya Cenote and Arrival in the Mexican Caribbean

 

After breakfast we will depart for Chichén Itzá, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World and the most iconic archaeological site in Mexico. This ancient Maya city, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, impresses visitors with its magnificent monuments, including the famous Pyramid of Kukulkán, the Great Ball Court, the Observatory and the Temple of the Warriors. During the visit we will discover the fascinating history, astronomical knowledge and remarkable achievements of one of the most advanced civilizations in the Americas.

 

We will then continue to the spectacular Selva Maya Cenote, a natural oasis hidden within the Yucatán jungle. Its crystal-clear waters provide the perfect opportunity for a refreshing swim in one of the peninsula’s most iconic natural settings.

 

In the afternoon we will continue to Playa del Carmen, located in the heart of the Riviera Maya. Upon arrival we will check into our hotel and enjoy free time to begin discovering the white-sand beaches, turquoise Caribbean waters and relaxed atmosphere of this renowned tropical destination.

Day 17: Playa del Carmen

 

A free day to enjoy the beauty of the Mexican Caribbean. Relax on the white-sand beaches of Playa del Carmen, swim in the crystal-clear turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea, visit one of the region’s famous cenotes or stroll along the lively Quinta Avenida, lined with shops, cafés and restaurants.

 

After days filled with ancient civilizations, colonial towns, breathtaking nature and authentic cultural experiences, this will be the perfect opportunity to unwind and enjoy the tropical paradise of the Riviera Maya.

 

Day 18: Departure
