MEXICO: MAYAN HERITAGE
ITINERARY: Arrival at Cancún International Airport → Playa del Carmen → Chichén Itzá → Cenote → Izamal → Mérida → Uxmal → Campeche → Palenque → Misol-Há Waterfall → Yaxchilán → Palenque → Chicanná → Bacalar → Playa del Carmen → Cancún International Airport.
Day 1: Arrival in Cancún - transfer to Playa del Carmen
Upon arrival at Cancún International Airport, you will be welcomed by your local guide. After a warm welcome, a private transfer will take you to the seaside resort of Playa del Carmen, located on the beautiful Riviera Maya. After checking into your hotel, you will have time to relax after your long flight or enjoy your first stroll along the lively Quinta Avenida, lined with restaurants, cafés and charming boutiques. In the evening, soak up the unique atmosphere of the Mexican Caribbean and prepare for an unforgettable journey through the treasures of the ancient Maya civilization.
Day 2: In the Footsteps of the Mayan Kings: Chichén Itzá, Sacred Cenote, Izamal and Colonial Mérida
After breakfast, we head into the heart of the Yucatán Peninsula to discover one of Latin America's greatest treasures – the legendary Chichén Itzá, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. We will explore this magnificent archaeological complex, where the legacy of ancient Mayan rulers, priests and astronomers comes to life. Highlights include the iconic Pyramid of Kukulkán, the Temple of the Warriors, the Great Ball Court and the mysterious El Caracol Observatory, a remarkable testament to the advanced astronomical knowledge of the Maya.
Following the visit, we will enjoy a refreshing swim in a natural cenote with crystal-clear waters. These limestone sinkholes were considered sacred by the Maya and remain among the Yucatán Peninsula's greatest natural treasures.
In the afternoon, we will visit the charming colonial town of Izamal, known as the "Yellow City", where nearly every building is painted in its distinctive golden-yellow color. We will stroll through its picturesque streets and visit the magnificent Convent of San Antonio de Padua, built atop the foundations of an ancient Mayan pyramid—a unique place where two great civilizations meet.
At the end of the day, we arrive in Mérida, the elegant capital of Yucatán State. After hotel check-in, there will be time to explore its historic center, admire its beautiful colonial architecture, lively plazas and authentic atmosphere, making Mérida one of the most beautiful and culturally rich cities in all of Mexico.










Day 3: Uxmal, the Jewel of the Mayan World, and Campeche, the City of Pirates
After breakfast, we travel into the heart of the Puuc region to discover Uxmal, widely regarded as one of the most beautiful and architecturally refined Mayan cities in Mexico. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it captivates visitors with its elegant architecture, perfectly proportioned buildings and richly decorated façades dedicated to Chaac, the Mayan rain god. We will explore monumental temples, vast ceremonial courtyards and ancient palaces while admiring the Pyramid of the Magician, the Nunnery Quadrangle and the magnificent Governor's Palace, masterpieces that represent the very pinnacle of Mayan architecture and engineering.
In the afternoon we continue to Campeche, Mexico's only walled city and one of the finest preserved colonial treasures in Latin America. Its impressive walls, bastions and fortresses, built to defend the city against Caribbean pirates and corsairs, recall an era of maritime adventures, legendary voyages and overseas trade. We will stroll through its UNESCO-listed historic center, where cobbled streets, colorful colonial façades, charming squares and the scenic waterfront promenade along the Gulf of Mexico create a truly unforgettable atmosphere. A remarkable day that perfectly blends the grandeur of the Mayan world with the timeless elegance of colonial Mexico.

















Day 4: From the Colonial City to the Mayan Jungle: Campeche, Palenque and Misol-Há Waterfall
After breakfast, we leave the colonial charm of Campeche behind and travel into the tropical landscapes of Chiapas. As the vegetation becomes increasingly lush, we arrive at one of the most spectacular archaeological sites in the Americas – Palenque. Hidden beneath the jungle for centuries and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this remarkable Mayan city captivates visitors with the harmony between its monumental buildings and the surrounding rainforest. We will explore its temples and palaces, including the famous Temple of the Inscriptions, where the tomb of King Pakal was discovered, as well as the magnificent Palace and the Group of the Crosses.
After the visit, we continue to the spectacular Misol-Há Waterfall, where a cascade more than thirty meters high plunges into a natural pool surrounded by lush tropical vegetation. Those who wish may walk behind the curtain of water and enjoy one of the most beautiful natural spots in Chiapas.
At the end of the day, we transfer to our hotel in Palenque, where the sounds of the tropical jungle create a relaxing and unforgettable atmosphere.


Day 5: Adventure Along the Usumacinta River to the Lost City of Yaxchilán
Early in the morning, we will set off towards the mysterious Lacandon Jungle, one of the most fascinating and best-preserved regions of Mexico. After travelling through lush rainforest landscapes, we will arrive at the banks of the legendary Usumacinta River, which forms the natural border between Mexico and Guatemala. From there, we will begin an exciting boat journey along its waters, surrounded by dense vegetation and extraordinary biodiversity.
Our adventure will take us to Yaxchilán, one of the most spectacular and remote Maya cities in Mesoamerica. Hidden for centuries deep within the tropical rainforest and accessible only by river, this remarkable archaeological site preserves temples, plazas, stelae and monuments that evoke the splendour of one of the most advanced civilisations on the continent. Walking among its ancient structures, enveloped by the sounds of the jungle, is a unique experience that transports visitors to the heart of the Maya world.
After the visit, we will return along the Usumacinta River and continue back to Palenque, where we will enjoy a well-deserved evening of rest.













Day 6: Palenque, the Hidden Jewel of the Maya Civilization - Chicanná
After breakfast, we will explore one of the most extraordinary archaeological treasures in Latin America: the legendary Maya city of Palenque. Surrounded by the lush tropical rainforest of Chiapas, this ancient metropolis is renowned for the elegance of its architecture, the richness of its carvings and the exceptional preservation of its monuments.
During our visit, we will discover some of its most iconic structures, including the Temple of the Inscriptions, where the tomb of the great ruler Pakal was discovered, the Palace and the temples that dominate the ancient city. As we walk among pyramids and structures embraced by tropical vegetation, we will uncover the fascinating story of one of the most advanced civilizations in Mesoamerica.
The combination of archaeology, nature and mystery makes Palenque an unforgettable experience and one of the most impressive sites in the Maya world. After the visit, we will return to the hotel and enjoy free time to relax in the tropical surroundings before continuing our adventure across the Yucatán Peninsula.
After the visit, we continue our journey toward the Yucatán Peninsula. Along the way, we travel through vast tropical rainforests and nearly untouched landscapes, following ancient routes once used by the Maya centuries ago.
By late afternoon, we arrive in Chicanná, where we check into our hotel, relax and prepare for another exciting day exploring the fascinating world of the ancient Maya.








Day 7: Chicanná, the Temple of the Serpent – Bacalar and the Mexican Caribbean
After breakfast, we visit Chicanná, one of the best-kept secrets of the Mayan world. This small yet remarkable archaeological site is famous for the spectacular façade of Structure II, decorated with the enormous serpent mouth of the god Itzamná, regarded as one of the finest masterpieces of Mayan architecture. Surrounded by the peaceful tropical jungle, we will explore its temples and ancient palaces while discovering the history of this important ceremonial center.
After the visit, we continue to Bacalar, one of Mexico's most beautiful natural destinations. Known as the Lagoon of Seven Colors, its crystal-clear waters display breathtaking shades of turquoise and blue. There will be time to relax, stroll along the lagoon or enjoy a refreshing swim in this tropical paradise.
In the afternoon, we return to Playa del Carmen, where our unforgettable journey through the heart of the Mayan world comes to an end. Hotel accommodation and free time to enjoy the unique atmosphere of the Mexican Caribbean.








Day 8: See you soon, Mexiko
Breakfast and free time to enjoy your final hours in the Mexican Caribbean according to your flight schedule. Take this opportunity for one last walk along the beach, relax by the sea, or simply soak up the tropical atmosphere of the Riviera Maya.
At the scheduled time, a transfer will be provided to Cancún International Airport. This marks the end of our services and the farewell to an unforgettable journey through Chiapas and Yucatán, a land of breathtaking natural scenery, ancient Maya cities, charming colonial towns and spectacular Caribbean beaches.
